I don't try for timing but pricing. When the price was at the lows (and sure it may go back) everyone who had ever bought the stock hated it.
The raising diluted the shares/tanked the price and made the business safer. It kept getting a better investment just as most people considered it to be getting worse.
You had to be able to look through hundreds of millions in impairments and not blink, a massive decline in profitability and split out the nonperforming businesses.
To me being able to divorce yourself from the judgement of the market is the most important thing. Pleased you did well out of lithium, I am generally interested in more pedestrian things. I don't by miners, not sure if the "story" for lithium will play out so I stick to what I am confortable with.
That means missing opportunities but it's worth it to sleep well at night.
