Sydney - Tuesday - October 10: (RWE Aust Business News) - Lefroy Resources (ASX:LEF) has discovered a potential new gold lode within its project area in Tasmania. The new lode is obscured by basalt and was therefore undiscovered by early prospectors. The company said the discovery highlights the potential for adjacent mineralised strucutres to be brought into the Pinafore inferred resource through further drilling. The new lode - South Pinafore - revealed an interval of 2m at 14.5 grams per tonne gold from 101-13m.
Sydney - Wednesday - October 4: (RWE Aust Business News) - Lefroy Resources (ASX:LEF) has substantial upgrades to the resource at the Lefroy gold project, Tasmania. The new combined global resource is now over 280,000 ounces. The initial JORC compliant inferred resource for the Pinafore Reef has been upgraded by 22 per cent to 274,345 oz gold at 9.3 grams per tonne. The newly established near-surface resource introduces the potential for both open-pit and underground mine development. The open pit resource is 616,000 tonnes at 2.5g/t for 49,345 oz while the underground is 304,000t at 22.9g/t for 225,000 oz. There is potential for the adjacent Chum Reef to be brought into the resource. In addition a new tailings stockpile inferred resource has been established, totalling 141,900t at 1.6g/t for 7,310 oz.
