Sea trails to break things so they can be fixed before put in combat are also what navy do well
I have been in sea trails and broken ships properly multiple times, Broken Windlass with several tonnes of anchor and tonnes and tonnes of cable in the water to be pulled by hand ( many hands and lots of block and tackle). Broken, berlings, propellers, boilers, gas turbines......... Helicopters, F1-11s, skyhawks, Mirage, Seakings, FA-18s trying and failing to swim- we are experts at breaking anything.
