I disagree with Albeura. I think that the "sophies" have a more sinister plan.

Now is the time for the larger oil companies to plunder the acorn companies. In a few short years we could well be reading an article like: "How Exxon Mobil "saved and made a success of" a tiny oil exploration company that was abandoned by its shareholders".

Remember the exploration effort by AWE in Yemen. AWE found an excellent oil column and with 2 weeks, foreign-supported militia claimed the area.

Yemen had kicked out Exxon-Mobil from their country. The western countries got together and "appointed" a new Yemeni president that lived overseas. The Yemen army became the "rebels". Many of the politicians in the Yemeni parliament who objected to what was happening because were killed in drone strikes after the NSA obtained the names and addresses of the dissenting politicians.

So now Yemenis are starving because of a western countries blockade on its ports. Saudi Arabia's sole interest in Yemen is to get its oil.

Do not think that Australia is immune from the dirty tricks! We now live in the age of the oil wars, and our Department of Foreign Affairs is either too dumb to realize, or not serving the interest of the nation of Australia.

Who really believes now that the basis for the Vietnam war was the "Domino theory"? It was always about access to the oil resources off the coast of Vietnam, and western Governments control in the area.
