New lithium-metal batteries, page-2

I note the anode is made of lithium metal. Obviously lithium metal cannot be shipped as-is since since it reacts spontaneously with oxygen in the air (although it can be stored in mineral oil). Would it be reconstituted from lithium carbonate to supply in metal form for the anodes? I guess there are companies out there that supply lithium metal? Must be a very niche market. Just thinking out loud here...
