They planned to mine the gold resource in conjunction with the iron resource, now that it is currently uneconomic to mine the iron ore, it is unlikely they will mine the gold deposit imo. I don't remember the results as it was a long time ago but depths were about 30m from surface I thought and possibly not practical to mine on its own.
