A decision to pay a divi would not have any impact whatsoever on the outcome of the BI claim. If the board use that as an excuse they are naive and poorly informed.
The insurers for the BI claim are really only interested in the financial impact to the company for that particular (loss) site, and that happened between the day of the loss and 12 month later.
