WELLINGTON, Aug 12 (Reuters) - New Zealand retail sales volumes rose a seasonally adjusted 2.3 percent in the second quarter, data from Statistics New Zealand showed on Friday, putting sales 6 percent higher on the year.
Economists had forecast a 0.9 percent rise in quarterly sales volumes, and a 4.9 percent growth in annual sales.
