Yeah I read that. How are they going to run it though? I mean what happens if a country like Italy hosts the games, are we looking at a wave pool? I'd like to see it be a youth competition like some of the other sports.

Come to think of it, it's dumb. Most pro level surfers come from France or French territorial islands, Australia, America, Brazil, Indonesia, Pacific islands like Fiji or Tahiti or Brazil and a couple of other South American nations. Don't know why you would include it. It would rather watch fencing at the Olympics.

I think this has no potential for surf retailers. The only people who will care about gold medals are sponsors.

Good surfers want to surf good waves. So unless Thaiti, indo or straya etc get the Olympics then you looking at suboptimal surf. Scratch that surf is seasonal too. It's going to have to be wave pool 100%.
