    Being bored, in the true sense, is an emotion and a negative one at that. Being over stimulated all the time and having the need to be entertained, or be thinking about something, or having an opinion on everything, or the need for there to be some kind of man made stimulus happening constantly can lead to boredom when nothing is happening and we can't find a method to entertain ourselves .

    Being bored or over stimulated are both unhealthy states of mind. Being aware and being in the moment, instead of living inside our head, is the ideal state of mind. I walk my dog down a dirt road, surrounded by bush, every morning as I watch the sun rise. I also go for a run in the evening and spend time stretching afterwards. I no longer drink alcohol, only read the business section of the paper, don't watch tv, don't use social media and spend my spare time doing simple, relaxing activities that take me into nature.

    I now live in a country town and live a simple, uncomplicated life. Most of the time I don't hurry or worry, I don't care if I never see another sporting event, never go to another city in my life, never watch another movie again, never go to another party, never go out to a fancy dinner again. To me, those things can be boring. Boredom to the point of wanting to be somewhere else. I feel like life is wonderful in my new state of mind. It took me fifty years to work out that I don't need all the things that society told me I did need and expected of me.

    Finding peace of mind and clarity is freedom and now I have left all those things behind that I don't need, I will never be bored again.
