I bought a small parcel today, bumped the price up to 81c. Looks to me like Gabriel is picking some beaten down dogs at good prices.
I don't know if he will influence Tatts lotteries but his strategy is clearly working with smaller companies. Volatility in shareprices is the price you pay for any value investing strategy. You have to be prepared to wait it out rather than selling to me for 87c on the dollar.
The underlying value of the businesses do not change with day to day shareprice fluctuations. You only lose money if you have to sell.
It is still the only method that works over the long term say 3-5 years. I see in the prospectus that SNC can sell the management contract which I don't like so I won't have too much in this.
Also, I think my own investing strategy is somewhat better.
The most likely follow up to a period of underperformance is a period of overperformance. A scheme of arrangement entered into for OTH I see.
