.. that suggests makers deliberately avoid embedding "black box" technology that would reveal what caused the computer to die, or perhaps they include the technology but keep it a secret only for authorised distributors/repairers to be able to interrogate!!
Note also Apple distributors promote their 'recycling' program for Macs which, I take it, is a good money-spinner!
Meanwhile the dead'ns make good 'desk-fillers' waiting for a worthwhile cause, 'burial', or hopefully 'self-revival' ..
