NST has 2 indirect interests in base metals exploration that I know of. There could be more though.

Firstly it farmed-out Cheroona to RNI at least 2 years ago. It's down below Fortnum in the Goodin Fault area where there is potential for vhms cu/au. It's Bryah basin, the same as IGO's Neptune etc farm-in with ALY. It therefore may want to get a little toe-hold in the base metals door. If a jv eventuates with IGO then ALY will need money. NST may increase its shareholding then perhaps.

I don't know how ALY got in the front door of Karonie without paying anything, but it was vg news.
