A recent internal investor briefing paper says that when Kaplan Equity opened its accumulation campaign through the back end of 2013, both AACo and Ruralco "had depressed earnings and share prices" due to drought, Indonesia's ban on livestock exports, low cattle prices and the higher-than-long-trend Australian dollar exchange rate.
