I don't think that the duration from when the deal was signed really applies here. As has been mentioned in the latest announcement from Elixir the deal sat in limbo for months due to oil price and legal aspects.
Elixir did not want to own a well that was dropping money on a daily basis.
AWE did not want a deal that came back to bite them.
So we have been informed that just recently common ground has been found on principle and that both parties agree.

So now the well pumps away and is well and truly into positive cash flow. I don't think this is as easy a deal to complete as it appears. The solicitors will be doing lots of the paperwork shuffle dance.
AWE will want their butt covered.
ROC will want their butt covered.
That means lots of legals and more legals.
If this deal does come off I will be very impressed.
Personally I have been thru it and it seems like it will never end. Then on the day of the signing a party will throw in a last minute clause into the agreements A, B or C that span hundreds of pages and the games begin again. Only shorter time frame now as both parties are starting to get pissed off.
To us as SH of Elixir its a game changer and a lifeline as its about all we have really got going at the moment.
At some point somebody has to make the call. Do the deal or walk. Enough is enough.
For our sake lets hope Elixir do the deal. Right Dougal?
