It seems even the esteemed Financial Review can't write an article without a boom/bust theme.
How about the recent rise in Australian Agricultural stocks is actually proper order and that current moves to value our farm resources at more appropriate levels is actually correcting a market indifference to an industry that does not work on boom/bust economics but instead provides the essentials of our existence.
True, bad management can obviously have its effect on share values and should be punished on market but to declare a beef boom would require a massive increase in the Australian herd and that ain't happening at warp speed. This is not an industry that gears up and increases production at the touch of a button.
In my opinion the current interest in ag stocks is truly reflecting its importance and the increase valuations are correctly identifying the value of the ozzie brand when offered as a quality alternative.
