KYLIE HARGREAVES - DRE
"Our social licence - a priceless commodity"
As head of the NSW Division of Resources and Energy (DRE), Kylie is responsible for the implementation of government policies to promote and manage the responsible and sustainable development of the State's mineral and energy resources. Due to increased stakeholder concerns regarding the social and environmental impacts of exploration and mining, the government's regulation, administration and promotion of our industry are being overhauled. In this talk Kylie will share with us DRE's vision and objectives, the challenges facing explorers, the reform agenda, plans to attract more investment to NSW, and how the success of these endeavours will be measured. She is keen to help the industry be valued and to show that it can co-exist within a contemporary, environmentally, socially and economically robust society. Following Kylie's talk, there will be an extended Q&A session.
We are hoping the text of the talk will be posted online sometime maybe here -

Was anybody at the talk? - many involved in NSW mineral exploration would be interested in first hand accounts.
Would also appreciate explorers views on NSW Govt changes to mineral exploration over the last decade or so - from the time the Wardens Court was axed around 2008 and "mining" matters are now heard at the Land and Environment Court

We all know that for years now the goalposts in NSW have been moving against mineral explorers. It might be useful if we can get some discussion going here.
