Ummmm no.
Let me tell you a little story about how the liquor industry used to work.
As a liquor retailer the brewers used to tell you what you could and would buy and the price you would pay for it. Not only that but then they moved into wine and spirits and further turned the screws. Also they billed you for transport and selected teh transport company, (which then 'lost' 20% of stock during delivery.
That was before WOW and Bruce Matherson (ALH) put the accelerator down and expanded Dan Murphys. Now they have the volume, distribution and model to turn that around and tell the brewers what they will supply at. The brewers still control Draught beer brands but that's it now. The move from DSD to Liquor DC's saved bucket loads of $$$$
The Dan Murphy model was the one that did this, simple model , always be the cheapest. Expand this model to more places and guess what.....Coles was smashed in Liquor and still is, (thats why they are canning 1st Choice) . WOW Liquior sales continue to grow......
The Dan Murphy model is the correct model (backed up by small BWS) until supermarkets can sell alcohol, then it would be redundant.
