I seriously question the figures thrown up by the analist. Given the number of stores that Aldi have in comparison to Woolworths and/or Coles I find it very hard to believe that the number of shoppers at Aldi was half of that at Woolworths or Coles. If that was the case then there would be traffic cues at all Aldi stores. Either that or shoppers are doing a hit and run, buying one or two items.
And I agree with a previous poster questioning how much an average shop is per month. Yes , you do see many people at the self help or low item counters, but they really can't be seen as the average shopper. To my way of thinking the average shopper is pushing the trolley around loaded up with the weeks supplies. $220 and $258 over a four week period doesn't cut it.
