True...Anyone with the means could purchase Walmart....and in "the Greatest country in the world", one that needs metal detectors at it's schools and has 20% of it's population live in poverty (what a Great and Free nation!!), sure, it would allow any takeover.....except maybe Boeing, Lockheed-Martin etc etc
Perhaps I am naive, but to suggest that having even more money siphoned from our shores by profits going overseas would be mutually exclusive to our national interest just sounds a little illogical to me....
I wonder though if your comments perhaps are a little bias....I fail to recall if CML was in your portfolio, but no doubt it would be....personally the closest I have ever come to anything retail was when CML fell to $6.00....but I never purchased....silly me....
And in the end it hardly matters whether it actually is in the national interest or not....It just needs to be seen to be so by the electorate and Costello will position himself according....sovereign issues must always be regarded as part in any investment decision mustn't they??
