Yep. Unfortunately, any comments on the HotCopper threads that state any potential negatives are usually shot down and dismissed as fanciful.
My other thoughts on this situation are more to do with investment psychology than the actual threat of the impending change to the electricity industry.
What investor would look at EPW with a dividend paying 8% and think that it was a safe bet in an industry about to undergo huge structural and disprutive change?
Add in the risk of government policy changes to meet green targets etc and no one in their right mind would consider any investment in current electricity retailers/suppliers/producers.
For anyone holding on to EPW and waiting for it to return to it's previous highs, just ask yourself this:
Who will buy my shares?
