News: New Zealand building consents jump in February

    WELLINGTON, March 30 (Reuters) - The number of new dwelling consents approved in New Zealand rose a seasonally adjusted 10.8 percent in February compared with a 7.8 percent drop in the previous month, official data showed on Wednesday.

    Excluding apartments, flats, and retirement village units, the number of consents for new houses was up 4.1 percent.

    Building consents were 35.3 percent higher than the same month a year ago.
