Apart from a few standouts, WA mining seems completely dead and is definitely a sector to avoid investing in. Many companies are handing back their mining leases to the state government. AON, RXL, RTR, RMR, ENT, SEG have all been woeful over the last 18 months.
The stupidity has trickled down all the way from the top. Colin Barnett wanted WA to secede from Australia at one point as it was "propping up" the eastern states. Where would they be now?
