So if I read it correctly, the upshot could be that a patient is released from the GP visit - Pathology Test - GP re-visit cycle which has been a cosy (financial) relationship for quite some time. Allowing them to choose an independent blood analysis ought to encourage a potential user to become more aware of their health management and less dependent on the state provided services. Would like to see how private medical insurers react to this plan.
