WELLINGTON, Jan 26 (Reuters) - Growth in New Zealand's services slowed in December after reaching an eight-year high the previous month, a survey showed on Tuesday.
The Bank of New Zealand-Business NZ's seasonally adjusted performance of services index (PSI) eased to 58.9 from 59.8 in the previous month. A reading above 50 indicates expansion in activity.
"When we look at the overall PSI, over the long stretch, it becomes clear that it's been picking up the pace for a good number of years now," said Craig Ebert, senior economist at BNZ.
Last week, a companion manufacturing survey (PMI) showed manufacturing activity rose to 56.7 in December from 54.9 the previous month .
