I have echoed your sentiments for years - but alas politicians in this country are not interested in manufacturing - they along with most Australians just don't understand the importance of manufacturing. We constantly get asked to support the local store - who have imported all their goods for sale because they can get stuff cheaper from overseas even when the quality is no better or inferior to locally produced. Our farmer are always bleating that we should be supporting them - how many farmers drive locally produced vehicles ?? or use locally produced machinery - they have been the most vocal in importing because local workers are too greedy in their eyes.
Our stupid politicians will not even acknowledge that China is a huge distorting influence on the private markets - and Chinese companies should not be dealt with on the same basis as other private companies.
The Iron Ore markets have been manipulated by both the Chinese and large multinationals for their own self interest and Australian Politicians have stood by and allowed the current situation to prevail. Why is that ?? Self interest or just stupidity, either way the muppets we have in Canberra are not fit to look after the interests of private Australian Equity.
Do you really think that I have not contacted local and federal politicians or the ASX over this whole affair - they are just not interested - or worse!!
