Anyone here got any knowledge/looked into the CPM's for the website? Not sure if I'm missing something here.
In November, RNT announced they had achieved 18 mil advertising impressions for the month (up 18% from October).
CPM = Cost per 1000 impressions.
As per http://promo.rent.com.au/pdfs/Rent.com.au - Media Kit.pdf, it costs $20 per 1000 impressions for banners etc...$10 for the text links.
Accaeric in his initial valuation at the start of the thread had CPM's being based on Unique Visitors, which I can't find any evidence to be the case. I've searched the T&C, the advertising docs on the website + generally online, and in the majority of cases, CPM is simply implied as page views/impressions, not UV's.
Based on this + a basic assumption that lets say
- 9 mil impressions (banners)
- 9 mil impressions (text)
9mil/1000 = 9000
9000 * $20 = $180,000
9000 * $10 = $90,000
Total = $270,000 for November
Adjusting for decreases in traffic, would be looking at approx $700,000+ for the quarter.
In July - September - RNT burnt $900,000 for the quarter
Oct - Dec - These figures would be higher b/c of extra employment etc...
Am I reading/calculating something wrong here?
