I agree - it appears that KCN have got their timing wrong.
However in my opinion I feel pretty sure that KCN expected favourable resolutions of the Chatree North mining lease application and the sell down to the Thai people to occur not too long after their initial bid for AND.
Based on KCN's operating history in Thailand, free from adverse bureaucratic issues, I see no reason why these will not be resolved satisfactorily for all parties.
However, the fact that they have not been resolved has allowed AND to mount a takeover defence which so far has resulted in most shareholders not accepting the KCN bid, not withstanding the possibility of a significant fall in the AND share price once the KCN bid is off the table.
