Well, looking at the LIC space, whilst the ASX is under 5200, many quality LICs are close to all time highs, and are at a premium to NTA. WAM WAX CDM all flying ahead, due to solid sustainable yields and good performance. At the other end of the scale, CTN WDE CYA NCC WIC OZG are all close to 52 week lows, and are having a horrid time, and are at big discounts to NTA, not historically though.
So which one of the bargains will rise again? Geoff Wilson has been buying WIC though his LICs, i guess picking the bottom of the commodities crash?
With 60 micro cap and small caps in the CTN portfolio, I'm putting my money into CTN at these prices, as well as VHY (high yield ETF yielding 8pc PF), on bet of a rebound down the track. They have enough dividend reserves for 3 more dividends at 6pc of NTA, but I'd expect if the ASX rises back to 5500, their NTA and profits will rise. CTN also have been buying some resources (good time to buy IMO) and IT Small Caps.
Yes, their past performance has been average, this year, but historically they are still good value.
