Austal receives order for two more Navy patrol boats

Sydney - Friday - June 30: (RWE Australian Business News) -
Austal Ltd (ASX code: ASB) has confirmed a contract for two additional
patrol boats between Defence Materiel Organisation, the Australian
Government Defence Force's purchasing body, and Defence Maritime
Services with whom Austal is the designer and builder of the 56-metre
Armidale Class patrol boat for the Royal Australian Navy.
The new patrol boats will add to the current order for 12
vessels and be supplied in late 2007 for specific duty in Australia's
northwest, serving the protection needs of offshore oil and gas assets
and other patrol duties.
The value to Austal of the tender is around $50 million.
