Agree with the points you've raised although I think there is alot to be said for his ability to ignore us(terrible I know) and concentrate on what's good LONG TERM.
He said a few years ago when you look at companies over several decades the one that keep growing through the centuries don't sell their real estate and mention Woolworths as an example of company that would destroy shareholder value without the property portfolio to keep the balance sheet "bullet proof".
A few years later and look at woolies!
HVN has doubled and WOW has tanked since then but do you hear anyone(other than me) bringin up all the times Gerry has been right?
I'm going to use a term that should explain quite well why Gerry should ignore nearly everyone:
SELF MADE BILLIONARE
Analysts call his demise, the media call his demise, even the business world and Government stick their boots in and who comes up trumps in the end?
I'll give you a hint, it aint Kogan!
