A recommendation to buy one stock which doesn't work out for you should not cause as much angst as you seem to exude. Especially since the reason for such an outburst is that a competitor has taken a stake in an already established player. You are correct to point out this increased competition was not mentioned as one aspect of one individual stock recommendation but to lose your s*!^ like you are seems a bit over the top. Why don't you sell and reallocate the funds elswhere if you think the sky is falling on CLH? Also why would anything be for free, overall good value nothing close to extortion and no one is allocating the funds for you - you are making your own decisions. Maybe get a financial advisor or fund manager to do it for you and give you equally poor performance or DYOR before buying anything.

In fairness I think MF deserves to cop some criticism here. They flogged CLH as a pin-up stock, best dividend stock 2015 blah blah and stuffed it. Talking about past wins will be cold comfort for those burned here.
