MRL Corporation, the Australian-based exploration company, has said it will position itself as a significant low-cost supplier of graphene. It also confirmed the results of its graphene extraction tests, which showed graphene yields of more than 43.6 per cent from its high-grade graphite.

MRL has been running graphene extraction tests on high-grade graphite mined from its sites in south Sri Lanka. The firm has acquired the rights to five properties in the region, and says it is looking to acquire more.

It confirmed on Tuesday these tested had resulted in graphene yields of more than 90 per cent from exfoliated graphene and in excess of 43.6 per cent from raw graphite, significantly higher than other firms.

Craig McGuckin, Managing Director at MRL, said: “The result is extremely exciting considering the speed of graphene conversion and yield of >90% when compared to conversion rates of 2% to 12% reported by other listed graphite companies.”

The firm said the process of electrochemically exfoliating its high-grade graphite took only 10 minutes. It said it would optimise this process in the future.

In light of these results, the firm said it would now seek to position itself as a leading supplier of low-cost graphene.

In a market announcement it explained that these yield figures placed it in a “very favourable competitive position”.

Listed on the ASX, MRL Corporation has a market capitalisation of A$9.26 million.

In my opinion MRL Corporation has barely even begun to Market itself or explain to the Non-sciencey Public what Graphene is ....

In fact I think these points bare extraction....

1/ Craig McGuckin, Managing Director at MRL - Personally I like his conservative stealthy style.

2/ “The result is extremely exciting considering the speed of graphene conversion and yield of >90% when compared to conversion rates of 2% to 12% reported by other listed graphite companies.” - This is incredible in my opinion; anyone who researches the Conversion side of things will shake their heads in amazement...

3/ The firm said the process of electrochemically exfoliating its high-grade graphite took only 10 minutes. It said it would optimise this process in the future. - What the? MRL Corporations Competitive Advantages keep stacking up in my opinion.

4/ In light of these results, the firm said it would now seek to position itself as a leading supplier of low-cost graphene. - The advantages of leading cannot be over stated in my opinion.

5/ In a market announcement it explained that these yield figures placed it in a “very favourable competitive position”. - Once in a while MRL Corporation does market itself in humble ways. This is saying it so understated like their confirmation that the new license will be the first in years to be given in Sri Lanka.... Once you talk with Craig you realize part of that is he does not hype ! He is not a Hype sort of guy!!!

6/ "We are now well on the path to production and cashflow from Graphite Production". - We are very close and that makes it allot of fun....

7/ "We also have strong potential to enjoy substantial sales growth on the back of the promising Graphene Market and we look forward to pursuing this significant opportunity." - This is really a part of my thinking about Graphene and now that MRL Corporation is well on the way there I wonder about the Value of Graphener's?

I found some real nuggets here and I think they allow some interesting extra deductions...
