Yes the OBV isn't something that will concern us now but my point is that it was not a coincident indicator at the top of the last bull cycle. It was a forward looking exit indicator. As I said you may have well have missed the last of the gains in the last gold bull run using this indicator but you would have avoided riding your stocks all the way down. About a year ago I also compared the HUI chart against the HUI GOLD ratio chart and when I did this the HUI GOLD chart were also giving the same forward looking exit indicator.
Probably of no interest to you for every day trading but come the top of the next bull run it may prove useful (say in another 10-15 years if all goes well for gold bugs).
