Just ignoring all your maths. I have lived with solar panels off and on since 1984, admittedly without all the excesses of a family household, and managed quite comfortably on a few grands worth of solar equipment.
Just as people have learned to live happily with less water consumption due to bigger demands and droughts, so to will people learn to tone down their electricity usage. Not only that, technology advances will continue to develop more efficient electrical goods which will become a criteria that buyers will look for.
