Just thought I'd take a look at the holding register movements during the year. It doesn't really add much, but does illustrate how illiquid MLA is, especially when excluding the top 25 and small holders, this Leaves a paltry 21m 'floating' around. I've only added to my holding (never sold any) and now personally have 2-3% of that 'free' 21m locked up which gives perspective why small trades of a small size can move the SP round quite easily.
- Net 18 additional holders joined MLA's share register during the year (604 - 622). 95 holders hold ~94% of the company.
- When excluding the 'non marketable parcels', the average holding size has increased from 257k in 2014 to 402k in 2015
- When excluding the top 25 holdings & 'non marketable parcels' the average holding has increased from 49,420 to 67,188 shares.
- drilling down further, you can see there are 70 holders (Range=100k+ , less: Top25holders) accounting for the 13.1m/21m shares, or approx 187k average shares each.
- The Top 25 % has increased from 82% to 84.5%, with the top5 accountable for the bulk of the change.
- Former CEO Mark Donnison has sold 250,000 shares during the FY2015. Gary Lewis's holdings have approximately halved, whilst Ian Mitchells have doubled.
