The early warning of the option expiration date of 30th Sept is a little unusual isn't it?

Maybe I have missed such announcements before, but usually such announcements are made subsequent to the option expiration date without any pre-emptive announcements aren't they? Perhaps someone can enlighten me.

I would think that the heads would need to be 12c or so for the options to be exercised.

Have there been any instances where options have been extended or renewed? This may be rare but I think perhaps there has been.
