Need to be careful on this one. There are a number of other ride share/taxi apps as well. The difference with this technology is that its about ride-share. That is , it is making use of idle assets (car) and idle productive capacity (drivers not at work or not working) so it effectively runs off a marginal cost model to the provider. AirBnB is the same for idle accommodation capacity and GetGo does it for cars. This is a meaningful change to the way things were run before, and while they face legislative & insurance challenges, something more akin to Uber than the traditional taxi model will come out of it all because it actually makes rational sense. The other challenge is the monopoly gouging practices that are slowly being outlawed in relation to the fees to use the payment system which will significantly reduce the top line. Put all this into a pot and I can see $3.00 on the stock before it becomes attractive again given these headwinds.
