Advanced Braking Technology (ASX:ABV) ongoing SIBS® trailer brake trial has demonstrated a tenfold improvement in performance after running for over 90,000 kilometres.
The trailer brake has met or exceeded expectations in every respect and is expected to meet or exceed its projected 250,000 kilometre usage target.
This compares with existing standard drum brakes that require significant maintenance every 20,000km in similarly rough road conditions.
ABT is now reviewing its options in relation to the commercialisation of this product including partnering relationships with potential manufacturing and distribution partners.
The trial was installed on Linfox trailer dollies operating in the Pilbara region of Western Australia.
The SIBS® trailer brake has a significant number of patents pending globally and importantly, has patents already in place in the U.S.
The U.S. and Australian markets have an addressable market of over 245,000 new trailers each year and an existing fleet in excess of 2 million units.
