Not to burst your bubble tangles but here's how it works.
Management and board of listed companies are probably the most greedy and self serving creatures alive today.
They technically tend to operate on whats known as the "couldn't give a flying f##k about shareholders" scale.
At the bottom of that scale you get the likes of PDY, then a broad spread along the scale.
They are quite often known to pay themselves exorbitant remuneration which defies all logic, whilst achieving very little (PDY again a prime example) whilst spending other peoples money (ie : shareholders) for questionable return.
If at some time it serves their purpose for their own financial gain they will manage to get the shareprice going and by sheer coincidence create shareholder value and the possibility of profit taking.
Occasionally they will actually achieve something of consequence, again if it in some way benefits them.
Wake up and smell the coffee.
