Takeovers are coming. The story by Laurie Oaks in the Herald Sun suggests that several IO mines/ companies are about to be shaken up by the Chinese. Speculation is mounting for companies like GRR and I'd suggest GRG is also on the cards.

"I understand several foreign investment applications that would potentially affect a number of mining companies were lodged with the Foreign Investment Review Board during the week and quickly hit Hockey’s desk.
They came out of left field and were seen by the Treasurer and the PM as a game-changer.
The applications, sources say, raise the possibility of significant upheaval in the iron ore industry and ownership of sections of it over the next 12 months."

There are a few companies that this could apply too, but I'd think GRR, AGO, BCI and GBG would be the ones that the Chinese would be looking at.
I'm afraid that Chinese are far smarter than most of us Westerners realise, don't think that they  just take advantage of a situation, they actually design, manipulate and create the situation.
The price of iron ore is directly related to their buying, what better way to pick up cheap Australian iron ore assets, drive down the iron ore price, Aussie investors wet their pants, Aussie investors dump iron ore shares, driving down the company share price. The Chinese are now rubbing their hands together with glee as us dumb Aussies sit there waiting for the cheap take over.
Too few understand the Chinese mentality, unfortunately this ignorance comes with a price, and the price is that the Chinese will own even more Australian assets.
Australian investors are a disgrace, and the quicker we start to realise this the better. How many Aussies voted against the CBH, OZL, PEM, TOL takeovers ?
