the share price has been heavily supported by director buying and I believe that one is close to the takeover threshold but I always thought that proton should have dropped to around this level when they lost the contract w Ralph Lauren. Now they have spent most of the money they got from then and are left with two businesses bleeding cash and their core brand underperforming in their traditionally strong market as they try to move upmarket.
Proton was about good quality pricey but affordable products. It was never a super lux brand and whilst they have been chasing that market people like mimco and michael kors have filled the affordable luxury market
