Copper miners weren't getting enough bang for their buck due to copper price, so stopped mining on MIZ controlled tenements, mining is copper price dependant.
From wording in the Quarterly it sounds like the gold refiner they are using in Lima is ripping them off, or MIZ are overplaying their gold grades.
