I think it is more than just a strategic stake, I doubt they will go for an out right acquisition of either company but you never know. The more likely option will be an equity based merger, with stokes becoming a large holder of the combined entity. I personally think this will be good for both companies and shareholders, as both these companies have really only been trading sideways over the last few years. Would be good to see someone who could drive real shareholder value in these companies. But we will have to wait and see how this pans out, but not for to long.
