They don't need to buyback stock when sp has gone up even though shorts has increased.
They will be setting a floor in the SP, therefore it's futiles for shorters to make much profit as they will start buying if sp takes a big hit. Hence come dividend time we should see gains as shorters trying to cover.
Given the market has taken a beating the last 2 days and orica is still green it's a great sign.
