Oilex (ASX:OEX, LON:OEX) has installed production facilities at its Cambay 73 well in India and expects connection to a pipeline to take place next month.
Initial production will be 50-60 barrels daily of gas and condensate, which will provide cash flow while the larger Cambay Project is developed.
Condensate will be separated at the field and trucked to a nearby refinery together with other Cambay crude oil produced.
Oilex is also assessing whether any legacy wells can be tied into the Cambay-73 facilities if they have surplus capacity and how else it can boost supply to the local low pressure gas market with minimal investment.
Ron Miller, Oilex’s managing director, said: said: “Gas production will lead to increased cash flow from the Cambay Field and is significant step in our 2015 programme.“
