As an average punter, I have problems in rationalising why WAM needs to go outside its existing investors to raise capital.
Clearly, most of the big sellers ($15000+) - and there have been lots of them - over recent days are those lucky investors who are closely tied to external brokers who snap up a bargain of discounted stock ($1.90) with a dividend carrot. They have no interest in our company.
Do we really need that extra capital if so many of them cannot wait to unload their good fortune at (an albeit) small profit.
Maybe I am missing something obvious.
