Now here's a contradiction in terms - have just seen this - due to illness in the family taking up majority of my time at present.

And who, amongst us- hoping that we still live in a DEMOCRACY, loving freedom of speech - and moreso, love STILL having the right for free speech - I ask WHO is then, on this site, and elsewhere - going to be the appointed Australian Arbiter of what IS - who is - labelled "red neck racist" - or indulging in "hate speech" - and what, NO "attacking whole races, or religions" - this surely Orwellian Big Brother creeping onto this site?
And, since when, has civil, well based crticism - or contrary opinion - been re-categoried as automatically becoming "hate speech". SO what - we can be subjected to "Hate speech" and subversive radicalisation from others - our kids being seduced into going oversaes for guns - and war - yet I cannot put up (now) what I just came on here to put up - this site - http://www.memritv.org/ - which has opinion, pro and against - terrorism, and it's proponents, and opponents - his is what's going on every day - out there - but in langauses we can't understand - and so this entity translates what's being said, for us?
Looking at "images" and "videos" is a choice we all have. Just as is pornography - the evils of paedophilia - or child porn. FAcebook itself, for instance - perhaps could be banned - for many use it's pages to personally hate and slag.
But, with regard to terrorism, of which we are now becoming closely awuainted in Australia - if we have NO clue of what's really going on - across the world - then we are really babes in the wood - as to the ugly realities - on this forum - World Events. We must then have a classification list - of HICH world events are accetpable to be discussed - and which are not. (Better, perhaps, to delete this forum. And the Politics one, too. of course.)
Perhaps a good substitute would be "Pollyanna's thought for the Day?" SOmething like - Let's think good things - or light the soy candle?"
Something like "be kind to others, even when they're shearing your head off?" Or is it preferred we talk about "celebrities", latest TV and movie gossip - and the size of Kim Kardashian's backside? Yes, to be fair - delete this forum, then. For the WORLD consists of wars, evils, murders, mayhem, and violence. Sadly. But reality.
If not this - what ARE we "allowed" to talk about?
