prhb,
I wonder if the name "Hackett" in here isn't Simon Hackett (Internode), I asked the person but no response.
In regards Malone and Hackett I would assume they have been approached and agreed to sell into the offer. Otherwise it would have hit the media already unless they are supressed from commenting.
As for a 10% holding threat, that exists but not sure it would come from Telstra or Optus directly otherwise the ACCC would look at anti-competitive behaviour. But it may well come from other places or be a combination of others that hold a collective exceeding 10%.
TPG hold about 6% and if the formal submissions of the takeover to ACCC get approved then TPG can increase its holding in IIN up to 100% so if not this time then maybe next. Suspect it will happen this time though with little contesting from the market.
