New research has revealed how Fairfax Media Limited’s (ASX:FXJ) Domain and News Corp’s (ASX:NWS) REA Group Limited (ASX:REA) are fairing in the property listings war.
Roy Morgan says News Corp is clearly winning in Melbourne but Fairfax’s Domain is now within striking distance in Sydney for real estate advertising.
The findings show Domain narrowed the weekly audience gap with REA in Sydney from 68,000 to 8,000 for combined online and mobile visits with print readership over last year.
Roy Morgan says realestate.com.au dominates nationally, including in Melbourne, but Domain has made solid gains in Sydney and the two are now neck-and-neck.
Fairfax Media reported a net profit of $26.71 million in the first half of the 2015 financial year.
